IIT Tirupati's Yerpedu campus hosted the 5th BRICS Working Group Meeting on Geospatial Technologies and its Applications from 20 to 22 July 2026.
The three-day hybrid event was organised under the Department of Science and Technology and drew delegates from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the UAE.
Themes included geospatial infrastructure, climate resilience, PNT technologies, AI-based geospatial analytics and data interoperability.
Expected outputs include the Tirupati Recommendations (2026) and a BRICS Working Group Action Plan for 2026-27.
