The Union government announced 50% reservation for Ex-Agniveers in Constable (GD) posts of the CAPFs and Rifleman posts in the Assam Rifles.
The announcement came via a written Lok Sabha reply by MoS Home Affairs Nityanand Rai on 21 July 2026.
Ex-Agniveers get 3 years' age relaxation (8 years for the first batch) and are exempt from the PST, PET and written exam.
No appointments had been made yet as of 21 July 2026, since the first Agniveer batch had not completed its four-year tenure.
