Kerala unveiled the Kerala GCC Outlook 2026 roadmap, targeting 150 Global Capability Centres (GCCs) by 2031, up from 45 today.
The plan projects about 2 lakh jobs in the state by 2031.
The roadmap was launched at Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, by Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty.
Technopark signed an MoU with Collabera, and Infoparks Kerala signed one with ANSR, during the conclave.
A GCC is an in-house, company-owned unit that a multinational sets up in another country to perform specialised functions — such as software development, analytics or finance operations — for the parent company, rather than outsourcing that work to a third-party vendor.
Simple Analogy: Like a company opening its own branch office abroad to do its own specialised work in-house, instead of hiring an outside contractor to do it.
