The Government has detailed the new Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) scheme.
With a massive total outlay of ₹60,000 crore, the scheme will upgrade 1,000 Government ITIs in a Hub and Spoke model.
The scheme also includes capacity augmentation of five National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) into sector-specific National Centres of Excellence.
To create regional nodes of excellence that support smaller satellite institutes.
Key: 200 Hub ITIs will be heavily modernized to provide advanced training, supporting 800 Spoke ITIs with smart classrooms and modern labs.
