The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports opened online nominations for the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award (TNNAA) 2025 from 21 July to 20 August 2026, via the National Awards Portal.
TNNAA is India's highest national honour for adventure achievement, carrying a bronze statuette, certificate, a blazer with silken tie/saree, and ₹15 lakh in award money, with a status equivalent to the Arjuna Award.
Awards are given in four categories — Land, Water (Sea), Air Adventure and Lifetime Achievement — ordinarily one recipient per category, presented alongside the National Sports Awards.
The 2023 awards (presented January 2025) went to Uday Kumar (Land Adventure, an amputee mountaineer) and Umesh Zirpe (Lifetime Achievement); swimmer Sayani Das won the 2024 award for her Cook Strait and North Channel crossings.

Umesh Zirpe — Lifetime Achievement category
Sayani Das — for crossing the 23 km Cook Strait and the 35 km North Channel
