World Brain Day is an international health campaign observed every year on 22 July to raise awareness of the rising burden of neurological disorders and to promote better brain care worldwide. It brings together neurologists, healthcare organisations, governments and patient groups to push for early detection, treatment access and public education on brain health. The idea for the day was proposed by the WFN Advocacy Committee, backed at the WCN Delegates' Council meeting on 22 September 2013, and approved by the WFN Board of Trustees in February 2014.

Neurological conditions are among the leading causes of death and disability worldwide, yet millions — especially in low-resource regions — lack access to specialists, diagnostic tools and treatment. The 2026 theme frames brain healthcare as a right rather than a privilege, calling for equitable access to prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation regardless of a patient's location or income.
