CSIR-NIScPR has begun using SARAL AI, an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) platform, to convert research published in its journals into videos, podcasts and posters.
SARAL AI takes a paper through an arXiv link or a LaTeX file, extracts the text and figures, writes a presentation script using AI models, adds synthesised narration and builds a shareable video.
It supports content in 18 Indian languages, widening the reach of research beyond English-reading specialists.
NIScPR held a hands-on workshop on the platform attended by over 90 journal editors and researchers.
ANRF was created by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation Act, 2023, which dissolved the Science and Engineering Research Board.
Take publicly funded research beyond the journal page by turning papers and patents into formats a non-specialist audience will actually consume.
