Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced a 10-member Task Force on 15 September 2026 to study the feasibility of reviving Formula 1 in India.
It is chaired by NITI Aayog Programme Director and Adviser Yugal Kishore Joshi; its mandate is a coordinated roadmap so that India can host a race in 2028.
It will look at taxation, policy, infrastructure and Public-Private Partnership models - tax issues were among the reasons F1 left India after 2013.
