Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced an 870-acre 'Odisha Silicon Valley' at Naraj near Cuttack for semiconductor, electronics and IT industries.
The announcement came at SEMICON India 2026, held at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, from 17 to 19 September 2026 on the theme 'Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem'.
Odisha drew investment proposals worth about Rs 23,600 crore at the event, with a potential for roughly 6,100 jobs.
A Letter of Intent was signed with QuadQuantum for a facility to manufacture silicon carbide substrate wafers.
The state offers an additional 25% fiscal support to projects cleared under the India Semiconductor Mission in equipment, gases, raw materials and supply-chain segments.

Naraj lies just west of Cuttack, at the point where the Mahanadi divides, on the Cuttack-Bhubaneswar urban corridor in eastern Odisha. The location gives the proposed hub river water for fabrication, proximity to the state's two largest urban centres, and multimodal links to Paradip and Dhamra, Odisha's major ports on the Bay of Bengal, along with national highway connectivity.
