NSE Launches Nifty500 Ahimsa Index for Ethical, Animal-Cruelty-Free Investing

• •NSE Indices Limited launched the Nifty500 Ahimsa Index on 10 July 2026, in partnership with the Ahimsa Foundation.
• •It is India's first rules-based equity index screening companies for freedom from animal cruelty, tracking 326 companies from the Nifty 500.
• •Only companies rated 'Green' under the Ahimsa Investment Movement (AIM) framework qualify; sectors like meat, dairy, leather and animal-tested cosmetics are excluded.
