SEMICON India 2026 concludes with 56 MoUs and RISC-V Grand Challenge winners
•
SEMICON India 2026, the fifth edition of India's flagship semiconductor conference, concluded at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi after a three-day run from 17 to 19 September 2026 on the theme 'Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem'.
•
The concluding session carried 15 announcements covering indigenous processors, sovereign computing, AI and quantum platforms, fab automation and skilling; across three days the event recorded 56 MoUs, announcements and strategic initiatives.
•
Winners of the Digital India RISC-V (DIR-V) Grand Challenge under MeitY's Chips to Startup programme were announced, with Rs 60 lakh shared by three teams building products on the indigenous SHAKTI and VEGA processors.

The Ministry of Finance concluded a two-day Conference on 'Financing India's Journey towards Viksit Bharat' in New Delhi, with Finance Ministers and Finance Secretaries of States and UTs with Legislature.

PM-AJAY: Rs 11,186 crore released, 16,022 villages declared Adarsh Gram
•
The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment released component-wise performance figures for the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM-AJAY), the merged Centrally Sponsored Scheme for Scheduled Caste development.
•
Rs 11,186 crore has been released across the scheme's three components from FY 2014-15 to date, through the Adarsh Gram, Grant-in-Aid and Hostel routes.
•
16,022 of 48,811 selected villages have been declared Adarsh Gram; the Grant-in-Aid component has reached 34.61 lakh beneficiaries.

Biometric Aadhaar Authentication Mandatory for Subsidised LPG Refills from 1 October 2026
•
From 1 October 2026, a domestic LPG consumer must have completed Biometric Aadhaar Authentication to book refills at the regulated Retail Selling Price with subsidy.
•
As on 19 September 2026, 27.43 crore active domestic consumers — 89.9 per cent — had already completed the process and need do nothing further.
•
Authentication can be completed at the time of delivery, at the distributor's showroom, or on an Oil Marketing Company mobile app.

Railways Sanctions Rs 252 Crore for Kavach 4.0 Across Lucknow Division

Indian Railways has approved Kavach Version 4.0 on 607.7 route kilometres of the Lucknow Division of North Eastern Railway at a cost of Rs 252 crore.
•
The sanction covers the identified balance sections of the division, extending Kavach across its remaining routes.
•
Kavach is an indigenously developed Automatic Train Protection system that prevents Signal Passing at Danger and applies the brakes automatically when required.

DDU-GKY 2.0 Training Batches to Begin in 14 States and UTs from October 2026

The Ministry of Rural Development will start DDU-GKY 2.0 training batches across most States and Union Territories from October 2026.
•
In the first phase, 1,164 batches covering 34,920 rural youth begin training in 14 States/UTs, against a sanctioned target of 3,57,112 trainees by 31 December 2027.
•
Targets for the two-year period 2026-28 have been allotted to all 31 participating States and UTs; 24 of them have already assigned 5.6 lakh targets across more than 1,200 projects.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the National Green Tribunal's two-day International Conference on 'The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics' at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on 19 September 2026, and launched the NGT Mobile Application.
