The Centrally Sponsored Scheme to set up Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) has been temporarily extended to September 2026.

As of April 2026, 775 FTSCs, including 398 exclusive POCSO courts, are functional across 29 States and UTs.

The scheme is designed for the expeditious trial and disposal of pending cases related to rape and POCSO Act offences.

●Launch: October 2019.
●Target: Establishment of 790 Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs), including exclusive POCSO courts.
●Funding Pattern: Centrally Sponsored Scheme (Central:State share is 60:40 for general states and 90:10 for special category states).
●Recruitment: Filling up vacant positions of judicial officers in these courts is the responsibility of State/UT Governments and the concerned High Courts.
