The Dikhow is a south-bank tributary of the Brahmaputra that rises near Zunheboto in Nagaland and joins the Brahmaputra at Dikhowmukh in Sivasagar district.
Sustained rainfall in Nagaland's hills and the upper catchment pushed the river past its extreme flood level, inundating low-lying areas across Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat and Charaideo districts.
