India hosted the Eighth BRICS Youth Energy Summit virtually on 17 August 2026 under its BRICS Chairship.
More than 100 participants took part, drawn from academia, government institutions and the energy ministries of BRICS member countries.
The Energy Track theme was 'Sarveshaam Urjam' - Energy for All - set within India's Chairship theme, 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability'.
More than 20 youth panellists spoke across three priority areas: Energy Security and Sustainability, Energy Access and Equity, and Technology and Innovation.
The BRICS Youth Energy Agency, Sustainable Energy for All, the International Solar Alliance and IRENA were represented.
