Mumbai's profile follows that logic exactly. It scored strongly where a visiting remote worker's daily costs are decided: transport affordability, accommodation, the availability of co-working and flexible workspace, and climate. It scored weakly on broadband speed and quality, on the availability of local events, and on the happiness index - the parameters that separate a workable city from a desirable one. Debuting at 50th while placing above London and Miami says as much about the index's design as about the three cities, since expensive Western capitals are penalised on cost even where they lead on connectivity.
