SEBI issued a circular on 24 August 2026 creating an Information Technology Resilience Index (ITRI) to score the technology systems of Market Infrastructure Institutions on a 100-point scale.
The index runs on nine parameters; availability and security carry 20 points each, five parameters carry 10 points each, and scalability and incident handling carry 5 points each.
MIIs must compute the score half-yearly within 60 days of the end of each half-year and place a comparative analysis before their Standing Committee on Technology and Governing Board.
The Industry Standards Forum of MIIs will finalise the sub-parameters and measurement criteria, and the full framework, including an Early Warning System and real-time service monitoring, must be operational by 28 February 2027.
