The Prime Minister chaired the 53rd meeting of the PRAGATI platform at Seva Teerth in New Delhi on 25 August 2026.
Six infrastructure projects in the railway, road and power sectors, spread across nine states and costing more than Rs 30,000 crore in total, were taken up for review.
Beyond projects, the meeting reviewed AgriStack under the Digital Agriculture Mission and measures to prevent cyber fraud, including so-called digital arrest cases.
The Prime Minister directed that infrastructure be monitored end to end rather than as isolated stretches or packages, since progress on individual packages must translate into commissioning of the whole project.
PRAGATI, launched in 2015, is a three-tier platform linking the Prime Minister's Office, Union government secretaries and state chief secretaries, and combines digital data management, video conferencing and geospatial technology.
PRAGATI stands for Pro-Active Governance And Timely Implementation. It was launched in 2015 and designed in-house by the PMO with help from the National Informatics Centre. Its distinguishing feature is that it fuses three technologies in one sitting: digital data management, so the issue and its latest status are on the same screen; video conferencing, so the centre and the states are in the room together; and geospatial technology, so the reviewer sees the site rather than a status note about it. The three tiers are the PMO at the apex, Union government secretaries, and the chief secretaries of the states, which is what lets a single meeting resolve an issue that would otherwise travel between a ministry and a state government for months. Items reaching the Prime Minister are drawn from existing databases of public grievances, running programmes and pending projects. After a meeting, follow-up is split: the Cabinet Secretariat tracks projects, while schemes and grievances are reviewed at the ministry level under continuous PMO oversight.
Simple Analogy: Instead of letters travelling between two departments for a year, everyone who can say yes is put on one screen, looking at the same map, at the same time.
