India and Japan to Mark 75 Years of Ties With 2027 'Year of Shared Horizons'

• •On 2 July 2026 the Ministry of External Affairs announced that India and Japan will celebrate 2027 as the 'India-Japan Year of Shared Horizons', marking 75 years of diplomatic relations.
• •Diplomatic relations were established on 28 April 1952, and the week of 28 April 2027 will be observed as India-Japan Week.
• •The two sides will hold ten commemorative programmes with a strong youth focus, among them IMAGE-75 (manga, anime, gaming), RASA-75 (arts), SPORT-75, Cricket Kizuna-75 and Mirai-Vigyan-75 (science, including the LUPEX lunar mission).
