The IRDAI approved Patanjali Ayurved and the Dharampal Satyapal (DS) Group's acquisition of Magma General Insurance, via a letter dated 28 July 2026.
The deal is valued at around ₹4,500 crore.
Patanjali Ayurved will hold a 73.56% stake and the DS Group about 24.5%.
The stake is being bought from the Adar Poonawalla Group's Sanoti Properties and related entities.
The approval is valid for three months, within which the buyers must complete the share transfer.
