The Vision Document on Narcotics Control (2026-2029) was released on 26 June 2026, laying out a three-year national roadmap against illicit drug trafficking and abuse, to be implemented by Central Ministries/Departments and States/UTs on defined timelines.
It rests on four focus areas — Enforcement (Intelligence & Operations), Precursors & Synthetic Drugs Control, Demand & Harm Reduction, and Capacity Building & Coordination.
States and Districts are expected to prepare their own 3-year roadmaps aligned with the national plan, strengthening the Narco-Coordination Centre (NCORD) mechanism and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
