The Prime Minister virtually inaugurated 75 redeveloped railway stations across 20 states under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS).
ABSS, launched in 2022, envisages long-term Master Planning for stations, with upgrades to entry/exit points, waiting halls, toilets, platforms, roofing, lifts, escalators, and free Wi-Fi.
The scheme promotes 'One Station One Product' kiosks to sell local goods and support the local economy, alongside greener, more attractive station design.
The goal is to make stations cleaner, more comfortable, and easier to use, with multimodal connectivity as a long-term objective.
ABSS follows a long-term vision built on Master Plans for each station, implemented in phases as per that station's specific needs and demand, rather than a one-size-fits-all redevelopment template.
Simple Analogy: Each station gets its own tailored long-term blueprint, executed step by step, rather than a generic makeover.
