PM Modi received a congratulatory call from new UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham on his taking office, with both leaders agreeing to deepen the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
They committed to strengthening cooperation on technology, defence, security, clean energy and education under the India-UK Vision 2035 framework, and welcomed the recent entry into force of the India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).
The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues and agreed to remain in touch.
Deepen bilateral trade and investment

Vision 2035, announced 24 July 2025, is the umbrella roadmap under which both CETA and the Technology Security Initiative operate — the new UK PM's call reaffirms continuity of this framework despite the change in UK leadership.
