Veteran actor Pradeep Rawat died on 4 August 2026 in Mumbai at the age of 74, after a battle with blood cancer.
He had been treated for blood cancer for about five years; the disease relapsed a few months before his death.
Born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, he began his screen career playing Ashwatthama in B.R. Chopra's television epic Mahabharat, which ran from 1988 to 1990.
He worked across Telugu, Hindi and Tamil cinema and was best known for antagonist roles.
His notable Hindi films include Ghajini, Lagaan and Sarfarosh.
