Drone survey under the SVAMITVA Scheme has been completed in 3.30 lakh villages, against 3.38 lakh notified villages targeted within the scheme period.
About 3.24 crore property cards have been prepared covering 1.97 lakh villages, of which roughly 2.72 crore have been distributed to owners.
Uttar Pradesh leads with over 1.20 crore property cards prepared, followed by Madhya Pradesh (68.19 lakh) and Maharashtra (39.70 lakh).
11,147 loans worth Rs 1,713 crore have been disbursed against SVAMITVA property cards, of which 2,282 loans worth Rs 185 crore were in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
The Ministry has clarified that SVAMITVA is not integrated with eGramSwaraj, which is a separate work-based planning, accounting and monitoring system for Panchayats.
Indian villages have long had detailed revenue records for agricultural land, but the inhabited part of the village — the abadi — was often left unsurveyed, so houses and homesteads had no formal document of title. That gap has two consequences: boundary disputes have no authoritative reference, and the house cannot be pledged as collateral because the occupant cannot prove ownership. SVAMITVA closes it by flying drones over abadi areas and fixing positions against Continuously Operating Reference Stations, which correct satellite positioning errors in real time and allow maps accurate enough to serve as a legal record. The resulting property card is a Record of Rights for the homestead. The credit dimension is the point of the exercise: 11,147 loans worth Rs 1,713 crore have already been advanced against these cards, with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, the Department of Financial Services and State Revenue Departments working through State Level Bankers' Committees to widen bank acceptance.
Simple Analogy: The farmland always had a deed; the house it stood next to did not. SVAMITVA issues the missing deed.
