Vice Admiral Manish Chadha, AVSM, VSM, assumed charge as Director General Naval Operations on 3 August 2026.
The DGNO handles operational planning, maritime security missions and deployment of naval assets.
A Communication and Electronic Warfare specialist, he was commissioned on 1 July 1991 from the 78th course of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla.
His command appointments include CGS-05, INS Veer, INS Kirpan and the guided missile destroyer INS Mysore.
Before this appointment he was Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala, Kerala.
