PAIMANA (Project Assessment, Infrastructure Monitoring and Analytics for Nation-Building) is a web-based platform of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation launched on 25 September 2025 to monitor Central Sector infrastructure projects costing Rs 150 crore or more; it replaced the OCMS-2006 (Online Computerized Monitoring System).
Its PAIMANA-CRIP module, launched on 8 July 2026, replaced DPIIT's Integrated Project Monitoring Portal and is being built into a Central Repository of Infrastructure Projects that will also feed PRAGATI and the Project Monitoring Group.
A Performance Monitoring Dashboard launched on 16 April 2026 now carries 165 indicators across six infrastructure sub-sectors, built on a framework developed with NIPFP and aligned to the Department of Economic Affairs' Harmonised Master List of Infrastructure (2022).
As of June 2026, 1,847 ongoing projects across 17 Central Ministries/Departments were being tracked, with a revised cost of Rs 40.54 lakh crore and expenditure of Rs 21.97 lakh crore (about 54.18%).
Central Sector projects are those funded and executed directly by the Union Government through its ministries and their agencies, as distinct from Centrally Sponsored Schemes where the Centre and States share the cost. MoSPI has long tracked such projects above a cost threshold and reported their cost and time overruns. On PAIMANA the tracked universe is split by size: 'mega' projects cost Rs 1,000 crore or more (769 of them as of June 2026, worth Rs 30.51 lakh crore) and 'major' projects cost Rs 150-1,000 crore (1,078 of them, worth Rs 5.10 lakh crore). The dashboard's newer contribution is a shift from measuring output alone to measuring performance across five dimensions — access, quality, fiscal cost and revenue, utilisation, and affordability.
Simple Analogy: OCMS-2006 was a stopwatch telling you whether a project was late. PAIMANA's dashboard is closer to a fitness tracker: it also asks whether the finished asset is reachable, reliable, well-used and affordable.

MoSPI's flagship output from project monitoring has long been the periodic report on how many Central Sector projects are delayed and by how much cost escalation — the data PAIMANA now generates
