Nitin Nabin was elected BJP national president unopposed in January 2026, succeeding Jagat Prakash Nadda, after being appointed the party's national working president in December 2025. Born on 23 May 1980, he is the youngest national president in the party's history and the first BJP leader from Bihar to hold the post. He is a five-time MLA from Patna, representing the Bankipur constituency. This is his first full organisational team, and the appointments took effect immediately. The BJP was founded in 1980, with Atal Bihari Vajpayee as its first president.
