Karnataka has earmarked 1,736 acres for the Tumakuru Node of the Bengaluru-Chennai Industrial Corridor, targeting Rs 7,000 crore of investment and over 88,000 jobs by 2027.
The update was placed before the third meeting of the Apex Monitoring Authority of NICDIT, chaired by the Union Finance Minister on 17 August 2026.
The node has recorded 30 per cent physical and 20 per cent financial progress; Jindal Aluminium is the anchor investor with 151 acres.
Land has been reserved for a Japan Industrial Township (300 acres), MSMEs (200 acres) and institutional use (41 acres).
Across the national programme, 20 projects have been approved in 13 states along seven industrial corridors.

About 5,348 acres have been allotted across 469 plots, with investment potential of roughly Rs 2.21 lakh crore and employment potential of about 1.29 lakh; 134 units are in production and 95 under construction.
The state has also sought support for the PM MITRA park at Kalaburagi - Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel - and for projects under the BHAVYA initiative, for which states filed 87 proposals in the first round.
