Ministry of Finance data released on 18 August 2026 shows Regional Rural Banks' gross loans outstanding rose 10.3% to Rs 5.78 lakh crore in 2025-26, from Rs 5.24 lakh crore.
Agriculture and allied activities accounted for Rs 3.78 lakh crore, or 77% of RRB priority sector lending; MSME credit stood at about Rs 67,000 crore.
Credit to weaker sections reached Rs 3.49 lakh crore.
RRBs achieved an average of 91.7% under priority sector lending, against the RBI's target of 75% of Adjusted Net Bank Credit for them.
The sector posted an all-time high consolidated net profit of Rs 10,177 crore in FY 2025-26, with gross NPAs down to 5.4%.
