Former Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha has been posted as Officer on Special Duty in the Directorate of Home Guards, Delhi.
The order was issued by the Home Department of the Government of NCT of Delhi; Golcha is a 1992-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre.
He will hold the OSD post until the incumbent Director General of Home Guards, Virender Singh, retires on 30 September 2026.
Golcha takes charge as Director General, Home Guards, from 1 October 2026.
He was replaced as Delhi Police Commissioner in July 2026 by Anurag Kumar and was attached to the Lieutenant Governor's office in the interim.
Anurag Kumar, a 1994-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officer and former Special Director in the Intelligence Bureau, took charge as Commissioner of Delhi Police, replacing Satish Golcha.
Golcha was attached to the office of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi after being moved out of the Commissioner's post.
The Delhi government's Home Department posted Golcha as OSD in the Directorate of Home Guards.
Virender Singh, the incumbent Director General of Home Guards, superannuates.

Under Article 239AA of the Constitution, the Delhi Legislative Assembly cannot legislate on public order, police and land - these remain with the Union Government. Delhi Police therefore functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, and its Commissioner is appointed by the MHA, not by the Delhi Cabinet. The Directorate of Home Guards, by contrast, is a Delhi government establishment: the posting order for Golcha came from the Home Department of the Government of NCT of Delhi. Officers move between the two because both draw from the same AGMUT (Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories) cadre of the IPS.
Simple Analogy: Two departments in the same building with different landlords - the officer walks down the corridor, but the rent is paid by a different government.
