Nvidia announced on 3 September 2026 that it will acquire the AI platform Hugging Face in a deal valued at about $12.93 billion.
Roughly $11.9 billion goes to Hugging Face stockholders and up to about $1 billion is an equity retention programme for employees joining Nvidia.
The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027.
Hugging Face hosts more than 3 million models and is used by over 18 million developers and more than 200,000 companies.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the platform will remain open across models, frameworks, clouds and accelerators.
