Justice Dipak Misra, the 45th Chief Justice of India, was conferred the Kalinga Ratna Award 2026 at a ceremony in Cuttack on 8 September 2026.
The award is instituted and conferred by Sarala Sahitya Sansad, a literary and cultural organisation based in Cuttack, Odisha.
It comprises an artistically crafted silver idol of Goddess Saraswati along with a formal citation.
At the same ceremony, the Sarala Samman went to litterateur Dr Ramachandra Behera for more than six decades of contribution to Odia literature.
Instituted in 2007, the Kalinga Ratna honours people of Odisha origin who have achieved distinction at the national or international level.
