CCESS 2026: Minister calls for integrated 'Coastal India' approach linking ecology, security and blue economy

●National Conference on Coastal Ecology, Security and Sustainability (CCESS) 2026 was addressed virtually by Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences.

●The Coastal Regulation Zone Notification, 2019, issued by the Environment Ministry under the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, classifies the coast into CRZ-I to CRZ-IV.
●Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar, the Ministry of Earth Sciences' coastal clean-up campaign, runs from 12 to 19 September 2026; its 75-day edition was held in 2022.
