Hindi Diwas was observed on 14 September 2026. It marks the day in 1949 when the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi in the Devanagari script as the Official Language of the Union.
To mark the day, the Supreme Court launched 'Jan Soochna Seva'. The service offers simplified Hindi summaries of selected important judgments and orders, plus 15-30 minute Hindi audio and video bulletins.
The service is meant for ordinary citizens, litigants and persons with disabilities. It will later be extended to other Indian languages in phases.
