The fourth Hanle Dark Sky Reserve (HDSR) Star Party was held from 7 to 12 September 2026 at the Indian Astronomical Observatory, Hanle, Ladakh.
It was organised by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics with Ladakh's Department of Wildlife Protection, BARC and TIFR; an Open Night drew over 1,200 visitors.
HDSR, notified by the Government of Ladakh in December 2022, combines curbing light pollution with community astro-tourism.
