APEDA facilitated the first-ever air shipment of Neelam and Totapuri mangoes from Karnataka's Kolar district to the Maldives on 30 July 2026, a one-metric-tonne consignment flagged off by APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev.
The mangoes were sourced from farmers of Prakruthimaya Farmers Producer Company Ltd in KGF Taluk, Kolar, and handled by woman entrepreneur Ashwini A of Ahalya Devi Ventures.
Neelam is a late-season mango variety; Totapuri is widely used for both table consumption and processing.
The shipment widens India's seasonal mango export basket to include late-season varieties for year-round market supply.
