India rose 25 places, from 82nd to 57th, in the Competere Foundation's Market Distortions Performance Index, per the report 'India's Next Growth Frontier', assessing reform progress from 2010 to 2023.
The report credits reforms including GST, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), regulatory-environment improvements and trade-facilitation modernisation, evaluated across three pillars — property rights protection, domestic competition and international competition.
The report was launched at a discussion organised by the Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL), IIFT New Delhi, with the Competere Foundation, at the India Habitat Centre.
