A CRDA Authority meeting chaired by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu approved India's first dedicated Quantum and AI University campus at Amaravati.
The campus will be established by NIELIT, a deemed-to-be university under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, on 8.5 acres.
The project is costed at Rs 730.70 crore over five years and is to be funded entirely by Government of India grant-in-aid through MeitY.
Academic programmes are to begin in September 2026 from a temporary facility at Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, while the permanent campus is built.
The campus targets about 8,250 learners in five years, of whom about 1,650 through degree programmes and 6,600 through skilling and certification.
