The Ministry of External Affairs announced on 27 August 2026 that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on a four-day visit.
He will make a State Visit to Tashkent on 29-30 August at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, his fourth visit to Uzbekistan.
He will then attend the 26th SCO Heads of State Summit in Bishkek from 31 August to 1 September 2026.
Kyrgyzstan holds the 2025-26 SCO chairmanship, with the summit themed around 25 years of the SCO and sustainable peace, development and prosperity.
A bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected on the sidelines, and the Prime Minister is to attend the opening of the sixth World Nomad Games.
