The Common Research and Technology Development Hub on Affordable Healthcare at IIT Kharagpur has completed its grant-supported phase and entered a self-sustaining phase, meeting costs through user fees, industry sponsorships and translational partnerships.
It was inaugurated by Dr N. Kalaiselvi, Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and Director General, CSIR.
Established in 2019 under the DSIR's CRTDH scheme, the 5,000 sq ft hub has facilitated over 20 technology transfers and trained frontline health workers running rural health units in areas including the Sundarbans and Birbhum.
