Karnataka's Department of School Education and Literacy announced its state-level Best Teacher Awards for the 2026-27 academic year, with the presentation set for Teachers' Day at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru.
The school-level list carries 31 names - 20 primary school teachers and 11 high school teachers; the awards also cover lecturers and pre-university college principals.
Each awardee receives Rs 25,000 in cash and a certificate of appreciation.
Women awardees are honoured under the name of Savitribai Phule, regarded as India's first female teacher.
The Malenada Gandhi Sri H.G. Govinde Gowda Best School Awards 2026 went to the Government Model Higher Primary School (MLA School), Haliyal, and the Government High School, Karikatti, in Belagavi district.
