Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the inauguration of the BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir in Paris by video message on 6 September 2026, calling it a new milestone in India-France cultural relations.
The temple was consecrated by Mahant Swami Maharaj, spiritual head of BAPS; its stones were carved in India and assembled in France — described by the PM as 'Made in India, Built in France'.
The PM linked it to the India-France Special Global Strategic Partnership spanning AI, defence, space and climate, and to 2026 being observed as the India-France Year of Innovation.
