Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Nasha Mukt Bharat 2029 roadmap at Panaji, Goa, on 6 September 2026.
The launch followed a state security and narcotics review meeting with Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
The three-year plan for 2026 to 2029 targets dismantling 100 international and inter-state drug networks, bringing back 100 narcotics fugitives and destroying 100 clandestine laboratories.
It rests on four pillars: intelligence-led enforcement, precursor and synthetic drug control, demand and harm reduction, and capacity building and coordination.
Outreach aims to reach 50 crore citizens through one lakh Nasha Mukt Mitras, using NCC, NSS and MY Bharat networks, while functional de-addiction centres are to rise to 1,751.
