The inaugural India-Morocco Joint Defence Committee meeting was held in New Delhi on 8 September 2026, covering training and education, peacekeeping, military exercises, medical cooperation, cyber defence and defence industries.
It was co-chaired by Joint Secretary (International Cooperation), Ministry of Defence, Shri Amitabh Prasad and Brigadier General Abdellah Athmani, Chief of the 2nd Bureau of the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces.
The Committee is the institutional mechanism created by the defence MoU signed during Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh's visit to Morocco in September 2025; the two sides are moving towards the 70th anniversary of ties in 2027.
