Three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor totalling 326 route km, built at over Rs 20,700 crore, were dedicated to the nation, completing the corridor's operationalisation.
The sections are Sanand (North)-Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale and New Saphale-Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), giving direct freight access to Mumbai's port.
Foundation stones were laid for three railway projects covering over 329 km at more than Rs 9,700 crore, including the third and fourth lines between Vadodara and Ratlam.
Three national highway projects worth about Rs 1,780 crore were also launched; the roughly 2,800-km dedicated freight corridor network was framed as part of PM Gati Shakti.
