Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan visited Nyedar Namlo in Itanagar, a place of worship and community hub of the indigenous Donyi-Polo faith of the Nyishi community.
He was briefed on Nyishi prayer systems, the Yerko indigenous Gurukul system, traditional medicinal practices and mother-tongue promotion efforts.
Invoking 'Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi', he said tribal communities are not merely custodians of India's past but partners in building its future.

The indigenous animistic faith of several Arunachal Pradesh communities, notably the Nyishi, Adi, Apatani and Tagin. It venerates the Sun and Moon as the visible forms of the divine and stresses harmony with nature, truth, ancestral respect and community.
