The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized around 41 kg of foreign-origin gold valued at about Rs 62 crore in six intelligence-led operations, arresting 24 persons including three foreign nationals.
Seizures spanned Delhi, the Indo-Bangladesh border, Howrah, Mumbai, Chandauli, Bengaluru, Chennai and Calicut, using airports, rail routes and the land border.
Concealment methods included wax capsules of gold dust, a body-worn belt, a treadmill motor, a coffee machine ring and an infant's diaper.
