Indian Navy's sail training ship INS Sudarshini arrived at Livorno, Italy on 09 September 2026 as part of the transoceanic expedition Lokayan 2026.
The ship has sailed over 17,400 nautical miles across 10 countries on the deployment, and conducted a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with the Italian Navy's sail training ship ITS Palinuro in the Mediterranean.
The voyage advances India's MAHASAGAR vision of maritime cooperation; Livorno hosts Italy's Accademia Navale, enabling cross-deck visits between Indian trainees and Italian cadets.
