Bihar announced a state-funded training programme for 100 newly appointed assistant professors at Oxford University and other global institutions.
The announcement was made on 13 September 2026 at Bapu Sabhagar, Patna, at an orientation programme for 2,451 assistant professors posted in 211 new degree colleges.
Bihar had launched all 211 state-run degree colleges on a single day, 15 July 2026 - the first state in the country to do so.
The state allocates 21% of its total budget to education, and the Chief Minister asked the new faculty to hold student attendance at not less than 75%.
