Ganges Grandmasters beat defending champions Alpine APL Pipers 7-5 on aggregate to win their first Global Chess League title on 13 September 2026.
The two-leg final was played at The Lalit Ashok, Bengaluru; the first leg was drawn 3-3 and Ganges took the second 4-2.
Ian Nepomniachtchi beat world number one Magnus Carlsen on the icon board and Stavroula Tsolakidou beat Koneru Humpy to seal the title.
This was the fourth edition of the league, run by FIDE and Tech Mahindra and played from 5 to 13 September 2026 with six teams and a total prize pool of USD 1 million.
